Matt Underwood  has accepted the position of Head Football Coach at Jackson Christian School.

From 1995 to 1997, Underwood played both quarterback and defensive back at Harding Academy in Searcy, Arkansas.

From Harding Academy in Searcy Underwood signed to play college football at Harding University, where he played from 1998 to 2002. While at Harding University he played both quarterback and special teams, and was honored by his teammates in 2002 when he was selected as Team Captain. During the 2002 season the team posted a 9-2 record, which was the best in school history.

Since 2003, Underwood has served as the Offensive Coordinator for Harding Academy of Memphis. Under his leadership the Lions have made football playoff appearances in both Division II Class A and AA in every year but one, and advanced to the D II Class A state football championship game in 2008.

Underwood will be introduced at a press conference set to take place Thursday afternoon on the campus of JCS.
