Union junior point guard Kayla Hudson passed 1,000 points in her Lady Bulldog career in an 85-70 Union win over Bethel,  Thursday night.

Hudson cracked the barrier with her first basket of the game, a
three-pointer, and finished the contest with 18 points. Hudson and
senior Kaitlin Dudley are the only Lady Bulldogs with over 1,000
career points. Dudley broke the 2,000 point barrier in Union's 80-78
win over Bethel earlier this season.

After a back-and-forth first 10 minutes, Union took the lead for good
at 18-17. The Lady Bulldogs led by as many as 17 in the second half, with Bethel getting as close as six.

Bethel's Kashundria Berry led all scorers with 26 points, and Sarah
Chan led Union with 22 to go with 13 rebounds.

The game was a matchup of top 25 teams, with Union coming in ranked tops in the country and the Lady Wildcats sitting at 21. The win gives Union a 15-game winning streak and 44-game conference winning streak, moving their record this year to 22-1. The Lady Wildcats drop to 13-9 overall and 4-5 in TranSouth play.

Union will next host Martin Methodist on Saturday, and Bethel is off
until next Thursday, when they travel to Nashville to take on Trevecca Nazarene.
